Write for us

Stellar County Journal welcomes thoughtful pitches about county landscapes, settlement patterns, place names, maps and the night sky as it relates to place. We look for clear, original pieces that help a general reader notice something accurately and understand why it matters.

What makes a strong pitch

Bring a focused question, a distinct angle and a sense of what the finished piece will help readers see or do. Explain why the subject suits Stellar County Journal, what material or sources you expect to use, and how you will handle uncertainty or competing interpretations. We are especially interested in evergreen ideas that do not depend on unsupported claims, local rules or specialist advice.

Before you send

Please pitch the idea rather than sending a finished article unless we have requested one. Tell us about any relevant interests or relationships that could affect the piece, and note whether the proposal is being considered elsewhere. Proposals are sent through the Contact page; choose the editorial question option and include your working title and a short outline.
